Insanity – Round 1 – Day 10 & 11

Day 10: Rest Day (MBA Statistics Lecture after work)
Day 11: Plyo Cardio Circuit

What a great workout… The warm ups are getting a little easier, but the Plyo intervals are definitely not. Drills are the worst! For those P90Xers out there, drills are basically prison push ups on speed:

Hands in the air standing…. Down to plank… 4-8 push ups… chataranga run for 8 seconds… repeat. Try doing that as fast as you can for 60 seconds…

Not fun… But it is a body fat killer…

Tip of the day: I have found that it is easy to slow down in Insanity when you have already given 100% and are worn out. Be careful of this little fact. Be conscious of you intensity level and remind yourself to push even harder when you are tired. You will be thankful when you get the results.

  1. Looks like you’re doing well Pete… I had to skip recovery this week and push up my exercises a day so I did the Pure cardio/cardio abs today… I’m with you, I can get through the warm ups now without a break… the Pure Cardio kicks MY BUTT but I am doing good with it as well, limited breaks… I’m not an ab work fan though LOL and Cardio Abs is a BURNER, slow concentrated moves but I’m sure you’ll have no problems with it

    • Hi Glen,

I am enjoying Insanity, although it is a little repetitive. I am already getting excited for the second month. Before P90X, I had almost no ab strength. I just never focused on that area before. Pushing through ARX doubles really brought some progress, so I am excited to see how Insanity’s ab work goes. I am hoping that it is tough and does the job. I don’t expect to keep up 100% on the first go, but progress will come with time.

Pure cardio is nuts… But the extended workouts in month two will probably be even more challenging, so we better start thinking of it as a warm up…

      Keep up the good work.
