Day 79: Doubling My P90X Efforts

Day 79 A.M.: Yoga X

It felt good to kick off the day with some good old fashioned hard work. The stretching wasn’t bad either. I am looking forward to going all out this week. I am sure it will be tough, but with a little extra fuel each day, I should be able to do it with no problem. I also thought about adding high-intensity interval training on the treadmill or stairs to top of my week of craziness. We will see if I have enough energy for that.

Day 79 P.M.: Plyometrics

Woohoo! I pushed through plyo tonight and reached my goal for the day. Was it tough? Very!

Last week I complained about plyo being a little too easy. Difficulty was back up to normal today. I was in my zone for most of the workout and dripping sweat by the end of the hour. It felt REALLY good. I believe that tomorrow morning is Kenpo X. I better get some homework done and go to bed early.

Diet went well today.

Tip of the day: If you are crazy like me and decide to double your workouts, make sure that you eat more food. Plyometrics alone has been known to burn over 1,000 calories!

  1. Bring it! You’re doing great. To answer your question, after this P90X Lean routine, I am going to concentrate on its resistance workouts more. Also I might not doing 6 days workout anymore because getting up at 4:30 am everyday is really tedious and tiring. I will do 3 days of resistance workouts during weekdays (alternating), sneak in some yoga and abs somewhere in between. The weather is getting warmer and it’s time for the outdoor activities for the cardio (run/jog at the beach or hiking) during weekends.

Btw, thx for the tips. I am not really looking into losing more weight, rather I’d like to build more lean mass.

    • Hi Hattori,

It sounds like you have a great plan. I wish that I had a beach to run on!

I was reading somewhere that it takes 3,000 calrioes (in exess of what your body burns) to develop 1 lb. of muscle. I am thinking about replacing my proteinn shakes with a mass gainer next round. They provide 600 quality calories with each shake and people generally use them 3-4 times per day. The downside is, if you do not REALLY bring it, you end up putting on fat. I will have to read some more and develop a game plan.

  2. 3,000 calories extra?! Wow that sounds A LOT! I even have hard time to eat at least 2,000 calories per day, even after breaking into small meals since I’m not a snack type of person. Good luck on your next workout game plan.

    • Hi Lee,

      Congrats on getting started!

It is one of the best and hardest things that you will ever do. Your major soreness will be gone by day seven and you will start loving every moment of it. I am glad that I could help out. Definitely keep me updated with your progress and don’t be afraid to ask questions. I will have a blog up in some shape or form for a while. I don’t plan to quit after 90 days.

      Keep up the good work,

      Pete
