Day 28: Workin Out Double Time

Day 28: Stretch X or Rest (Really did Yoga and Core Synergistics)

The past three days have been horrible: out with a shoulder injury. After a few days of Stretch X, I was ready to jump back into the game. I did Yoga X and Core Synergistics to make up for lost time. I took it slower than usually, but did the best that I could for my current condition. I am back on track and ready to begin Phase Two tomorrow.

Diet is good.

Tip of the day: Getting back on track is 10 times harder than getting off track. Push yourself, but be careful not to push too hard. Injuries suck. Do all you can to avoid them.

  1. Hi!

Guess who did push-ups today 🙂 I have to admit, I couldn’t go all the way down but at least I wasn’t on my knees. After two weeks, I can hold my body straight. I still can’t do the ones where you put your feet on a chair and dive on your hands but still it’s an improvement. Yay for me 🙂 I think all those ab ripper exercises are working. To be honest I realised that ab ripper was getting easier last week. I haven’t forgetten how my abs hurt the first week. Thought I literally ripped something in there. I’m so glad I did not give up. I’m getting stronger each day, guess this is one of the benefits of starting working out young.

Yesterday I was hanging out with my friends and as always girls started to discuss weight loss related topics. Mostly diets actually, and let me tell you people still think starving yourself is the way to go if you want to be slimmer. I felt sorry for them. When I told them that I eat 6 meals a day one of the girls whom I met yesterday stared at me with shock in her eyes. As I explained her my diet plan (it’s much of a lifestyle by now) she said ” it doesn’t look like you need to watch what you eat.” I was overweight as a kid… As soon as I hit puberty something hit me: I wanted to be pretty. Not funny or cute, gorgeous to be exact. I worked hard for where I am now. I owe what I know to that hard work. I’m still not perfect but willing to take responsibility to do what it takes to reach my true potential. When people ask me what I do to maintain my physique I tell them I eat right and work out everyday but I guess deep down inside they want to hear I’m using some sort of magic or miracle stuff to get me where I want to be. If someone’s reading these lines let me tell you, there’s no easy way out. If you want results do something to get you closer to your dream every day.

Sorry I got carried away… I truly admire you. You’re doing great no matter what comes your way. You never stopped working out or blogging. The results are clear in the pics. Even I started to see results. I don’t think my mom can mock me about my stick thin arms anymore. And I’m not giving my true potential right now. I think I’ll up the weights in phase 2. Sorry if I seem so full of myself. I get excited about p90x and this is the place for me to rave about it. In fact yesterday I took the day off (was planning to do x stretch but sadly arguing with the bf on the phone cancelled it out) and realised I missed Tony 🙂 I like how silly he can be. His “catwalk” on the ab ripper video saying “ab-ripper-x” is to die for.

Let us know how phase two is turning out for you 🙂

    • Hi Sena,

Good to hear from you and congrats on the push ups! I told you that the gains come really quickly. It sounds like you have already improved a lot. Way to go!

I completely understand where you are coming from with the diet talk. I had a similar conversation the other day. The thing that most women don’t realize is that gaining muscle will increase the rate of fat loss and keep their body toned. That is not to say that you need to become a body builder. It is just saying that exercising frequently AND EATING healthy frequently is the key to weight lose and good health. You need to gain to lose! Simply cutting calories out will not give your body the nutrients or energy that it needs to run. There is no magic pill, no magic exercise equipment, no magic diet. Eat healthy frequently and excerises frequently.

The great thing about P90X is that it naturally teaches you about exercise and diet science. You become and expert and learn the right way to lose weight and stay healthy without even thinking about it.

Also, Sena, it really helps to have someone checking in every once in a while. I have been kind of down about P90X lately because I wasn’t able to stay on schedule. I know it was only 3 days that were thrown off, but it felt like eternity. I am really getting excited about tonights work out. Your comment has given me some motivation. I want to get back to the everyday grind and keep making improvements. I have 62 days left in the first round and I really want to walk away with a success story!

Thank you for all of the support!
