Day 26: Yoga X (completed 1/4 and moved to Stretch X)
As I mentioned yesterday, I am having a problem with my right shoulder. Specifically, I cannot raise my arm above my shoulder without having a sharp pain. I am starting to think that this is the result of pushing too hard during Kenpo X. I began Yoga X and quickly realized that it way WAY too much for my arm today. I popped out the DVD and went into Stretch X with modified moves. Luckily, I am in the rest week so I am not missing out on resistance and abs. It still really sucks to get off the schedule, but I don’t want to hurt myself further and have to stop all together. I know that I need to let it heal.
For my diet, I decreased the caloric intake for the day and ate mostly protein to compensate for my lack in activity. Tomorrow I will try Yoga X again. The plan is to finish rest week with Core Syngergistics on Sunday because I did Stretch X today. I won’t miss any exercises, but this week will not be in the exact order specified in the program. I should be back on track by Monday.
Tonight I am going to ice and heat my shoulder and prey for the pain to go away. I really hate this, but I am listening to my body.
Tip of the Day: Know your limits. If you are injured, don’t push too hard or you could seriously hurt yourself. It is better to switch to a less-demanding exercise for the day and let your injury heal. Get back on track ASAP.
